Cameron Russell: Looks aren’t everything. Believe me, I’m a model. #TED : http://on.ted.com/g0D9u
Cameron Russell has been my girl-crush since this TED talk, if ever asked the first video to watch through TED, this will be the one.
CR used photos from her work & photos taken in occasions to reveal the transformations made through teamworks (filled with people such as cameraman & make-up artists) and photoshop, she hoped people would need no longer feeling insecure over their looks and figures because of the illusional beauty magazines present.
She then moved onto her existence in the standard of beauty and being aware of the race and identity she belonged to, made her aware of the advantages she gained which led to her guilt, as there are people who ended up being treated differently because of their appearance. Therefore she hoped her talk, would help people to see past the appearance and able to achieve the possible equality, for once.
I guess that was how I fell in love with her TED talk?
