Rachel Carson, Silent Spring

Rachel Carson, Silent Spring

Today is Rachel Carson’s 107th Birthday, therefore a Google doodle made in dedication to her work.

She was most famous for her book – “Silent Spring”, a book that talked about how DDT (Dichloro-Diphenyl-Trichloroethane) sprays affected the environment, and how this affect the human health along the way. There were many corporate tried to keep her work wrapped from the eyes of the media, but eventually the story became public and eventually the DDT was stopped for using.

I adored the design of Rachel Carson’s doodle greatly, not just shown perfect the concept of what she was famous for, but also the beauty of nature – we all should learn to take care of it better.
